Street Riding tips
   by Justin | 07 Apr 2006 10:26 pm

Pre-ride:
Be sure to stretch this helps so much when you are out all day if you stretch before hand it makes the soreness of a hard days ride seem a lot less. Check over your bike and carry a few tools for parts of your bike that you have trouble with, for example I always carry an Allen wrench for my stem and a spoke wrench because every once in a while my wheel gets a little wobbly. Do not drink or eat any dairy products before you ride it may make you sick. Especially in this Texas heat. Also get an idea of what type of stuff you want to ride before you head out.

Ride alone:
It may seem like a stupid tip but riding alone is so fun, you can go at your own pace and you don't have to worry about being pressured into anything. Also busts are real low when its just you sessioning a spot.

Bring some spare cash:
We all have been out there riding when all of a sudden BANG! your lying on the ground and your tire is flat, end of session. If you have some spare cash you can always just go pick up a new tube.

Dealing with traffic:
Okay we all know how it is your out there riding and some 16 year old a-hole decides to lay on his horn and give you the finger for no reason. Just ignore him, seriously some people just have no life and just decided to hastle us because of our sport. Now lets say your crossing the street and somebody slams on the brakes because they almost hit you. Now don't start yelling at them telling them to watch out and such, just laugh and do a slight wave at them.
