[HOW-TO] remove and reinstall grips the easy way!
   by dksixpackrider | 14 Oct 2007 11:55 pm

Well, it's plain and simple, VERY simple.

Grip on the bar, oh no!;

Well just roll back!(You can do this most the time with flanges too if they are on the softer side.);

Keep on going! You're doing great!

POP! It's off, make sure you don't pull the end of the grip inside out... that makes it tricky.

Well now you have your grip that oddly resembles a butt hole. Clean off your bars and install your brake lever or grip stop now.

Carefully place on the tip of the bar and slowly start to roll back towards the base of the bar. Just like a condom.

Oh dear! Look what happened! Oh well, just push it on a bit more and straighten it out.

Now just pat the grip with the flat of your hand. Just tap 'er real good. (This is the only way I recommend putting on new grips. It will be a lot easier to do now since the grip is a bit stretched.)

WOOHOO! We are finished, go ride!

Look at that, no sharp tools or lubes to do that. Wasn't that simple!
Well, I'm bored and some times people do need help with the more simple things. So here it is.

P.S.
If you are interested in a neat little idea for a grip stop, break an old grip shift detailer shifter and take the small ring with the set screw and use it as one. That's what I have for mine.
