   by dirkadirka | 04 Apr 2008 7:23 pm

So, i mod stuff left and right and i heard about you can remove the anodizing on aluminum parts with oven cleaner? yeah, weird but i tried it out.

1. Get a can of this---->

(i used it the entire time and still have half a can)

2. Get any aluminum part.
EX.(Sprocket, Pedals, Stem, Seat Clamp, Seat Post, Hubs(hardertostrip) etc.)

3. Find a well ventelated space, bathroom with vent or so on.(works best in temp like 40-80)

4. Use a metal or thick plastic container to place the parts in.

5. When spraying i noticed if you hold your can back about 8-10 inches it coats it without the aerosol blowing the foam off the part.

6. Spray!

7. Give it about 15-20 min.

8. Clean with steel wool.

9. Spray with simple green, any cleaner to get most of the grimey dirt thats left over off.

10. you have raw aluminum parts.!!

ex.

stem and ruben pedals done with oven cleaner
