[Review] Proper Magna
   by BMXJackel | 24 Nov 2008 6:22 pm

I don't actually own these. I bought them for my little bro 2 months ago, and installed them on his bike. We ride each others bikes alot. I have myself owned: Evo, Evo II, 990, and Revenge (S&M).

I must say, these are the strongest/smoothest non-bearing u-brakes I've ever used. They are way smoother (lever feel) than everything other than the Revenge. They have the best springs, and bolts I've had experience with. The bolts wont back out, unlike the Evo fiasco I experienced. Another cool thing about them is the stiffness of them. The 7075 really makes a difference in the arms stiffness. And they're super light.

The only draw back is the pads. Sure they grab supurbly, but they squeal like no other. I tried them on my bro's chrome hazards 1st, then put them on both my bikes too (7KA and Ribcages, both black). My GOD they're annoying!

Pros:
Strong
No arm flex
Best springs
Great hardware
Light
Smooth lever feel

Cons:
Price
Pads
