Abubacas and Fufanus
   by kentuckyrider420 | 11 Sep 2005 10:08 am

Okay, the first thing you need to get straight is your brakes.  I recomend straight cables because what you are really wanting is strong pulling-power and solid locking of the back wheel.  Choose whatever lever you like, but i also suggest a 1 or 2 finger design.

Abubacas:
If you are doing abubacas, then you need to get just enough speed to get to the top of the ledge or ramp.  pull up and get your front wheel pretty high...nott too high, just balance it out like a manual.  Plant your back wheel right on the edge and pull your brakes hard...make sure its there to stay.  Then you are going to need to hop backwards.  Some special advice here is that when you plant the back wheel, drop your butt behind your seat so that you are nearly sitting on your back tire.  this makes it easy to drop backwards with an easy hop.  when you hop back, sit down and fakie...turn it out and feel really good about yourself because your not injured,...but just wait cuz now ur gunna try a fufanu!

Fufanus:
OK, abuacas are hopefully mastered by now or you are gunna die on a fufanu.  Do the same as before, but spin a little bit, about 30 to 35 degrees....and dont stick the back tire, just sorta kiss it....and then hop hard and spin your head hard.. this is a 180, well 145 degree spin to land this awesome trick...it may not look as good as the abubaka to others,...but u know that they suck and dont know how hard a fufanu is and so be happy that u learned it....

..by the way get ready to fall on your butt bone...mine is chipped and im reminded of that 1st fufanu everytime i fall on my back...HAVE FUN....peace
