[Review] The Odyssey Path and Dirt Path Tires

Odyssey Path and Odyssey Dirt Path Tires

I decided to mix it up and do a review of two tires instead of just one.  I am reviewing the Odyssey Path (20x2.10") tire in the front, and the Odyssey Dirt Path (20x2.20") tire in the rear.

I have have been rideing these tires for about 6 or so months now and so far they are wonderful and never give me any problems.  My friend sourced them from a local bike shop for cheap and gave them to me in mint condition.  The front tire is the Odyssey Path and is 20x2.10" as read on the burly sidewall.  The rear tire is Odyssey Dirt Path and is 20x2.20, a little big, but doesn't bother me .  I think having a larger tire in general, front or back is a good thing because there is a slightly larger contact patch with the ground so you get better traction, and secondly because they absorb hard landings better than skinny tires.  The Odyssey Path tire is mainly made for street and park rideing, but I ride mostly Dirt, sometimes ride a little street, and a lot of jummping.  It has a center tread pattern that decreases rolling resistanceand the outer tread has small knurling to increase traction I was very surprised at the grip they have in the dirt, the tread is somewhat smooth for dirt and trail riding, but with grips very well.  The Dirt Path tire is a mock of the Path tire, but with a little more agressive tread on it.  A very good trail design that will allow you to venture onto the streets from time to time to roam around and not ruin the tire's tread.  The traction these tires have is amazing,  even in wet conditions due to the "water shedding" design they both incorperate, they hardly slip and are made of a very sticky and soft compound, but if you do lock up your brakes at high speed prepare for a rapid deceleration and then a short pitch black rubber dust line.  I doubt they would last long on the street due to this, but they are wonderful while they last.

They are also very puncture and snake bite resistant due to the thick sidewalls and deep tread they have.  Before i was fixing glass, nail, thorns, and metal punctures all the time, now i hardley ever have a leak or hole.   The Odyssey Dirt Path Tire has a good dirt tread, but fast center tread and the only Dirt tire with dual ply sidewalls to protect them against grinding.

I give them a 9.5/10.  Only because of there above average price and super soft compound (again, this isn't a bad thing, but wear out faster on concrete due to it). Overall a great all around Trail or Street tire for any rider.   The Path tire comes in either 1.85" or 2.10".
