  • Shorter.
  • Larger teeth have better engagement to almost eliminate stripping/slipping.
  • If you cut down the Intac, its probably lighter than any post it is not lighter than now.
  • When talking about strength, we compare this Aluminium to the Chromoly posts that it BEATS.
  • 6061 T-6 alloy.
  • Black or Silver only.
  • 25.4 to fit 99% of modern street frames.
  • Now also available in 26.8 IN BLACK ONLY to fit most alloy race frames.

A seatpost, not something that’s really that important, only holds the seat in place, guess again.  A seatpost is as important as wheels or a the frame, you need it, without it your nothing, well your crown jewels might pack up without one.

Ok so I 've had the Odyssey Intac seatpost since the very beginning, just over a year and only now have I realised what an essential piece of kit it is, tucked away seemingly doing nothing, infact it has been in and out of my frame so many times to be cut or have the seat angle changed I've lost count.  Its a cheap piece of kit at £15 and it has a nice gut design despite at times being a bit fiddly with just a single bolt to clamp and adjust the seat unlike most other posts with two bolts.  That niggly aside the seatpost has been through the wars, its taken chopping from my hacksaw and an angle grinder, I’ve had plenty of hard crashes and I've thrown my bike a fair few times, tut tut you may say but it was at stupid people getting in the way.  The seatpost is light and is even lighter still when cut to the bare minimum and slammed in my frame.  Word of warning, goes for all seatposts grease them lightly otherwise they will never come out again.

Summary

  • Cheap
  • Does the job it supposed to do without problems
  • Light (290grams)
  • Guts are a bit of a pain to clamp and adjust

Ranking: 9/10 - A great piece of kit at an affordable price that does an essential job how it should be done.(fit and forget)

Costs: about $20 USD
