[Review] Props issue 59
   by bradan C | 18 Mar 2006 12:50 am

I have to say, I was expecting this video to blow me away. I'm glad to say, it did. This is, as said by props, the longest issue they have ever made now, with a lot of sections in it, there is a lot to mention. So here it all comes.

First section is the backyard jam, with 3 songs in it. It is a decent long section with some amazing riding from Aitken, Max Vincent, Martinez, and Doyle, as well as a guy named Chris Russell whom I had never heard of till this video. With movies like brakeless truckdrivers to manual to 180 barspin out on boxes, he's definitely a stand-out.

Second up was Luke Fink Bio. If you ever read prop's site about how they were putting together some crazy footage of this guy, they were right. He is a barspin machine. he also does some really tech stuff as well, like 270 over ice to 270 out on a spine. Ridiculous.

The next section is the Colorado scene report. It has about 4 songs and after the first one, the rest go unnamed, which I guess was a mistake by props. It has a lot of not so well known riders, but some that you may know are Jeremiah Jones, going big as usual, and the vigil brothers. the last trick of this part is something you almost have to think about to appreciate how nuts it is.

Next, Jim Bauer bio. It starts off with him doing a double peg on a flat rail while walking a blind ladies dog. Yah, kind of weird. But otherwise, his section is full of intense rail attempts and really weird set-up street lines that are pretty crazy.

After that is the Chenga Comp. At one of my own local parks, at least until it got torn down, Chenga world. It has two songs in it, good pumping ones to go with the craziness of the comp. I even saw myself in it (red hoodie and copper bike). Some stand-outs included Dorito, local and amazing rider with some big downside and regular tailwhip lines. Morgan Wade who did one of the biggest nose manual's to barspin I've ever seen. Hollywood had the box jump lines down. Eric holly also does big barspin stuff as usual.

Next was the Baco Jam. It took place in Florida at Mesh, Chad's new park. The locals really stand out with their lines of the new park, like Mark Mullville. The guy who won is from Venezuela, and he can basically do everything. From wall ride to whips to frontflips over spines, he's going to be huge in a few years.

After that, there was the UK street comp. Held near some rails a stair set, everyone that I had never heard of made some ghetto ramps and rode them. One guy even did a superman seat grap barspin. Another guy did a run and jump onto his bike over the about 10 stair set.

Second last was the Racine Jam. My favorite song of the video by Glasseater, basically a pretty hardcore punk/emo song. Also got some good midwest locals in it, since it is in Wisconsin. Guys like Dom Travato and Jeff K ride sweet. Along with others.

Finally, the 1664 comp in Canada. Some props who showed up and killed it, Aitken with some big wall ride 270s and 180 nose bonks. Ty Stuyvesant did some big gaps. Matt Beringer found some big lines as well. My favorite was no doubt Rob Wise. Doing crazy things like barspin disaster to 360 tire tap and over and back icepick fakies on hitching posts, he's someone to watch.

Overall, it was a really great movie. So much amazing riding and such. Also, there is a bonus Adio road trip that was in ridebmx a while ago, the last clip is from Sean Burns and it is so nuts, the scariest thing anyone could probably ever do. All I can say is get the video to see it. Perfect 10/10.

Costs: about $22 USD
