HOFFMAN Fat Free Bars
   by nutsgeezer | 20 Jul 2005 12:03 am

I bought these bars at the start of summer to replace my volume moustache bars which I had grown out of. They cost £42 which is in my opinion a little pricey, but around the same price as the rival brands (maneil etc).

Making the jump from a heavy 4pc bar to what at the time was the lightest bar on the market seemed to give me instant improvements in riding. The shape is exactly the same as the extremely popular jumping bars but the weight is cut down significantly. These bars are really comfortable and can be cut down to your preference. The paint job is tough and so far hasnt scratched except on heavy falls. The tubing is also so strong that it broke my pipe cutter disc, and blunted a hacksaw blade when I cut them down. The only problem I had was fitting my lever comfortably on the bend although I did manage it eventually (and when I got my monolever it went on the bend with ease).
Specs are as follows:

Details:
• Heat Treated 100% 4130 Cromo
• 7/8" Grip Tube
• 7" Rise
• 1° Up Sweep
• 10° Back Sweep
• 1.76lbs Weight

I would give these bars a score of 9.5/10 as I cant think of anything else you would want in a handlebar.

Cost: about $45 USD
