[Review] Bulletproof BMX Components Dropnose Seat
   by turndown/dean stacy | 13 Jun 2006 10:18 pm

I picked this seat up last July (05), when I was riding street with my friend in a town not too far away and we stopped by the bike shop (wich was the only place I have ever seen Bulletproof parts). I had seen this style of seat before and really liked it plus my Odyssey Marcel was about done for so I picked it up for only 13 bucks.

I knew when I bought it that it was a dirt type seat, which did not bother me because I run my seat slammed for various performance/cosmetic reasons. One thing I did notice while sitting on this seat on the deck of the of ramps at skateparks was that its not as uncomfortable as you may think. It really had alot more padding than I thought it would and didnt hurt my butt like my old Marcel which was supposed to have alot of padding.

Ive had no problems with this seat at all really. The weight wasn't an issue when i bought it, but Id imagine its pretty light for a seat with rails. One thing that got a ltitle annoying was that when I would bail, the back corners of the seat would get scratched a bit and the plastic would scrape and stick out, rubbing my leg sometimes if I wore shorts, but a minute of filing on the seat and it was smooth as new. (you can sorta see where it was filed in the picture). Other than that, thanks to the firm plastic base around the outside of the seat, it hasnt ripped or torn yet.

Pros: cool looking, light (I think, dont have an exact weight), strong/takes a beating

Cons: small plastic scratching and thats it.

Rating: I give it a 10/10 because for what its been through, its in amazing shape.

Cost: about $13 USD
