[Review] Macneil ID Forks
   by JoeyPower | 03 Jul 2006 5:03 pm

I got these forks about 2 months ago, at my local shop called Hogtown. They were $145 Canadian, which is a great price, in 3/8 with no mounts.

I got home, and had to cut down the steer tube because I hate using spacers, it wasn't a big deal or anything, but just keep in mind you may want to cut it. Everything went together smoothly, the headset race was easy to get on, and I had no problems with the front wheel. When I first pedaled around my driveway, the first thing I noticed was the weight, at 2.3lbs, these are close to the lightest forks around.

After riding super hard with them for the last little while, they have held up perfectly. Thanks to the gusset inside the steer tube, these forks are almost bombproof. I run pegs and do a lot of grinds, and the dropouts are still perfect. The paint is hardly even scratched! These ar e the best forks I've ever had, and I recomend them to anyone.
