[HowTo] Lookback Air [P][V]
   by MalvernPigne | 19 Feb 2007 7:32 pm

Ok, this artical will help you learn to Lookback air.

Firstly your going to need to be able to turndown. so check out the old artical on how to turndown.

step 1

You need to be able to air opposite, or if your goofy footed. (left foot foward, spin to left/ right foot foward. spin to the right) you can do this in a regular air.

as turndowns are into your backfoot, the way i would do it would be to do an opposite air. you need to be very confident when doing this, as i've had a bad experience where i hung up back wheel mid lookback and just bounced straight to flat.

anyway back on track...

Approach the ramp at a decent speed. pump to the top of the copin (this increases air time and makes the trick easier).

step 2.
as you take off extend your legs and kick the back end of the frame out onto the deck side of the ramp. make sure your legs are relitivly straight.

step 3.
now you have whipped out start to turn the bars around make sure they go over the top of your leg.

step 4.
for me (might be the other way round for you) pull in the bars with your right hand and push with your left, this will snap the bars clicked.

step 5. To get even more clicked, if you kick round and fold yourself round the headtube like you would when overclicking a turndown. you can get more of a clicked lookback in.

step 6. the decent..

now this should be done rather quickly as too slow can lead to hanging up and crashing. quickly pull the bars back in with the left hand, but dont push with the right simply let it come.

now pull your body round so you can come in for the landing. make sure you try keep your back end up a bit, as you do not want to hang up.

step 7. compress into the transition to roll away smoothly.
