[Review] Macneil I.D Forks
   by Rossbmxs2007 | 30 Mar 2007 1:57 pm

Now these forks are awesome, i had to replace my stock diamondback forks which were starting to crack and the dropout's were bent to the high heavens. these feature the following

100% Heat-Treated Japanese 4130 Cro-mo Tubing
Internal Gusset (Steerer Tube)
Single Butted Fork Legs
4mm Thick Dropouts
3/8" or 14mm Slots
Choose With or Without 990 Mounts
Alloy Pre-Load Bolt w/Offset Cable Hole
Weight: 2.3 lbs
Colours: Gloss Black, Metallic Chocolate, Metallic Blue or Grey
Lifetime warranty!!!
and look like this!

I've had these over a month now, and there great i have a few complaints about them but i'll mention them after all the good stuff, these forks are Japanese cromo tubing 100% which is already stated. They are super light and strong, i run the 3/8 front, I'm no fashion bitch but i only have this because i only had a 10mm wheel in perfect condtion.

Now on to my complaints, these are my opinion for those that run these and disagree with me please state them by commenting.
The Drop-outs are thin, not recommending pegs these look like these can bend easily and the Compression bolt, it needs a rachet head if this is to chew up your screwed so i recommend the Odyssey Compression bolt for these forks as you can use an adjustable spanner or a 6mm allen key.

PROS

  • Very Light.
  • Lifetime Warranty
  • 100% Japanese Cromo Tubing
  • Look great

CONS
  • Thin Drop-outs
  • Wierd compression bolt, maybe pro's to some people in my opinion its a con
i rate these a 8/10, and i will let you decide whether these forks are the ones for you they were certainly my perfect choice. If you would like to add to pro's or cans please do!
