[Review] Coalition Seat
   by rideohio | 02 Apr 2007 8:08 pm

Before I start, let me just say that I am very hard on seats. In the last 12 months or so I am on my 4th, and I have yet to find a seat that I like that hasn't broken on me. So, getting my gurth out of the way, heres the review:

I bought the seat back in September of '06 from bruisedbob. It sat around till late October, where I put it on after I destroyed my Shadow. It was a decent seat comfort wise, pretty much identical to the Shadow Slim in shape and construction (that is before Shadow started with thier new custom seat pan). I had it set about 4 inches up, and I had no problem pinching it for barspins and no handers.

Heres pictures of my seat currently:

Damages:
Completely torn front bumper (multiple lost staples).
Large crack in nose.
Rear side of seat is all torn up.
The plastic on the back right is completely cracked and broken off.
Rails torn out of seat pan.

The seat was used for just over 4 months, which is on the low side of a decent lifetime for a seat (by my standards).

Pros:
  • Some cool designs
  • Just like the ever-so popular Shadow Slim
  • Survived 4 months?
Cons:
  • A little too small
  • Uses the stupid velo pan
  • Died
  • Tore pretty easy
  • On the expensive side
There's not too much else, its a seat.

6/10
