Standard's are made here in america by a company called Waterford Precesion Cycles. Waterford is a small company and a leader in the bike community with decades of experience in building custom frames. They use the latest OX tubing and technologies on Standard frames with airhardned heat treatment providing an unmatched superior product in both strength, quality, craftmanship, and relyability. Now, onto the frame, after assembling the bike I took it out for a ride...it was immediately apparent this is a very well thought out design. Within several minuts I was already becoming comfortable with the frames geometry and over all handling. The frame in general was not only very easy to get used to, but it was a blast to ride. Although Standards STA's are generally a little heavyer (older STA's like mine especially) than most frames, this isn't really something I noticed when I aired the bike over jumps, ramps, and street. Once the bike is in the air it feels more like a natural extention of your body rather than something external you need to work at muscling around like some other frames I've ridden. The frame is also incredably strong, you will not break it! Frame and forks come with a lifetime garrantee, if you break it (and theres a 98.9% chance you wont) you get it replaced. Some might say it's over built, yet that could'nt be further from the truth. Back in the day when Standard was a new company riding was changing, but the equipment was not. Standard helped change that and to date they remain a leader and inovator in the bmx biz. Another cool option is Standard will paint your frame any color you like (check availability - I custom ordered brown), but be prepared to pay a little extra and wait a little longer to get your frame. Over all, this is a one of if not the best frame ever created, I found it well suited for all types of riding, dirt, street, and vert. I've ridden dozens of bikes throughout the years and my Standard is the most comfortable precise handling stongest frame I have ever owned, period. If you want a nucular bomb proof bike what will out life your grandkids, then what are you waiting for, get some! You wont be disapointed!
