[How To] Wallride that Jersey curb
   by bruisedbob | 30 Jul 2005 10:46 am

Trick Description
A succesful stunt where a bicycle rider defies convention and rides his/her bicycle on a vertical surface, in this case near vertical.

How To:
First, this maneuver requires a Jersey-type curb. A less colorful name is a traffic barrier.

Next, of course, it also requires a bicycle. The bicycle of choice seems to be one similiar to this one.

Now, approach the "Jersey curb" at an angle with medium speed. The angle you choose will determine the height and length of the maneuver. An acute angle will carry you further along the obstacle, while the obtuse will force you higher on the wall.

Compress as you near the wall and lift the front wheel onto the surface of the "Jersey curb."

Start tilting the bicycle, so that the pegs do not hit the wall and lift the rear wheel onto the surface. Remember to stay compressed and tilted.

Enjoy the ride. At this point, I would advise against take any appendages off of the bicycle. Getting a hand caught on that fence looks painful. (It is.)

By now, you will be running out of speed. Turn the handlebars away from the wall and pull the front wheel off of the wall. Don't pull brakes to try and leave a skid mark on the "Jersey curb." This will anger the barrier and cause it to slam your front wheel into the ground. If you decide to attempt this, wear a helmet and pull REALLY hard before pulling lever. Trust me.

Ride away sure that your dreams of being a player in the world of action sports is one step closer to fruition. Congratulations.

I would like to thank my ten second timer for not giving me a lot of time to set it and get the picture. And the thunderstorm that soaked my ass on the way home. You were both so hepful.

Drink water and wear whatever pads you want. Helmets are useful and keep your brain intact.
