[Review] Odyssey Evo IIs
   by 666will666 | 23 Nov 2007 6:04 pm

Right I got these brakes a while back, they cost £30 or there abouts, and they are excellent brakes for the price. I had a bit of trouble putting them on, I had to rub down my right lug a bit but they are very smooth now with a bit of oil on the lugs. They have next-to-nil flexibility, are nice and light (6.7oz including all the extra stuff they come with and the pads), they are OK to run on the chainstay with small gearing with a height off the frame of just 21mm. They are easy to install, they have a pre-cut straddle cable, which works great, and little arrows to help you install and tighten the springs. The cable hanger looks cool and is a perfect shape, and it comes with knarps so you can also have a custom straddle cable if you want (but the pre-cut one works good). One final thing is that they come with some hard springs and some soft springs depending on how you want them to feel.

[Pros]
Light
Non-flexible
CNC'd
Easy Installation
Low stack height
Pre-cut straddle cable
Hanger works a treat
2 types of springs
Pads that come with it work good
Comes with hardware to run on front or back
Cheaper than Fly's or Demo's
Look hot
Generally excellent braking power!

[Cons]
Only come in black, white, raw or limited edition colours, I'd like to see something flourescent!

I rate them 11/10!
