[HowTo] Putting grips on! No muscles, water or com

This was just a little experiment I thought of, and it worked a treat. Much easier than just muscling them on, if you're lazy or weak, and you don't get throttle grip from having water under them like if you do it with boiling water.



That pic is misleading, you do them one at a time.

Right

You will need:

1 pair of grips
1 microwave
Your bike

First, take one grip and put it in the microwave. It took 3.30 mins in an 800 watt microwave so I guess about 3.00 mins in a 900w microwave and 4.00 mins in a 700w... something like that. So turn on the microwave for around 3.30 mins. The grip will expand, and be warm and little flimsy. Go put it on your bike, it should be easy. You need to put it on quickly or it will cool down when it's only half on and you'll have to start again. Or muscle it on the rest of the way. MAKE SURE YOU DON'T PULL IT ON BY THE FLANGE. If you do this then the flange will rip, because it is really weak from the microwave, as I found out. I was going to cut it off though anyway. The grip will toughen up again within a minute or two.
Now repeat the process with the other grip.
