[Review] Demolition Anorexia Rear Hub.
   by ilovemyeastern | 12 Dec 2007 9:52 pm

Well, I bought this hub around April in 36hole with a 9t driver laced up to a odyssey hazard lite, with black and white primo spokes.
They go for $105 and are availible in 9t, 10t, and 11t. Also is available in a lot of colors. White, black, yellow, lime green, dark red, purple, and thats about it. It weights about 17.9 ounces which is really light for a hub that has 5 bearings in it. The axle also has reverse threads on the left side for people that like to grind a lot.
At the time, my local bike shop only really had 36 hole hubs because they were "in" so I decided to get one, even though I'm sketchy and need a 48 hole hub instead. I thought it would give me trouble because I heard 36 hole hubs and wheels were very weak compared to 48, but it has been treating me good. I do have 2 spokes that went inside the hub flanges and made some damage to the flanges from grinding without a hubgaurd but its still good.
Since I beat the crap out of my wheel, I have to true it maybe every 2 weeks but I'm talking about small quick trues, like just loose spokes and stuff. The only problems that I have had is a blown bearing, (but thats because its a 9t driver) and a broken axle which was my fault. I was grinding a ledge when the cone buts unloosened, which made the tyre hit my chainstays, and since I had no tools I decided to bash it against a bench. I kept going and going and it never budged until I just saw the peg go in a diagonal direction and realised I got pwned. But trust me, I bashed the crap out of it so don't think the axle is weak.
Other than that, its been treating well. Only thing is that my driver is quiet compared to when I got the wheel, but it hasn't skipped or anything so I don't mind.

The pic is from like early summer but yeah, it looks the same, just dirty.

Pros:
awesome colors.
3 bearings in the driver which keeps the driver rolling smooth.
comes in 36 hole or 48.
Has reverse threads for people who grind a lot.
Light as hell.
has lasted a sketchy rider 6 months.

Cons:
The 9t bearings blow out a little faster than the others, which is obvious.
Gets quiet after a while. But is really loud when new.
And I'll add more when I remember them

I give this hub a 9 because I just love it.
I recommend it to anyone who is in the market for a new rear hub. And the shell hasn't snapped in half yet so don't believe that all anorexias snap in half.
