[Review] Fit Hawk Frame
   by specializedrider | 11 Jan 2008 5:46 pm

Here is my review for the Fit Hawk Frame

So approximately a year ago I was in quite the conundrum, my beloved specialized was broken and I needed a new frame. So I went to the LBS and saw this sucker on sale and I knew I had to have it. I ride park and street and wanted a light frame without going under five pounds. The Hawk weighs in at exactly five pounds so it is really light and pretty damn strong as well. I have put this thing through a ton of abuse and it has taken it like a pro. The only problems I have had with it are a few small dents in the chainstay from missed grinds and a medium sized dent on the downtube from a rail attempt gone bad. The backend is short compared to my old frame so my manuals improved dramatically. The headtube angle is pretty steep so nose manuals are easier. The hawk comes with an integrated headset, Mid BB, and an Integrated Seatpost clamp which makes setting installation simple. If you are looking for a reasonably light frame that is strong then this might be the frame for you.

Specs
TT size = 19.75", 20", 20.25", 20.5", 20.75", 21", and 21.25"
Backend length - 13.75
Headtube angle = 75°
Seat-tube angle = 71°
Seatube Angle = 71
Brake mounts = 990 on seatstay
Weight 5.0 lbs

Pros:
Light
Strong
Good Geo
Looks nice
Good pricing($289)
Mid BB

Cons:
Some people might want different colors
Dents if you grind alot

I would give this frame a 9/10
