[Review] Odyssey Electronical DVD
   by Sean13 | 30 Mar 2008 11:47 pm

Not sure if this fits in this section of the forum but im unsure of where it would go.

Went to pick up my Front wheel today from Custom Riders and Alex in there said they had just got Electronical in. Getting together all my change I had left I had enough by 20p. I’ll take it.

First things first, it was worth the wait and WOW! What a BMX film. After the title sequences and riders intros it kicks off with a stunning section from the one and only Gary Young. What can I say, the camera work and editing was second to none and the soundtrack was also up to these standards. A blend of classic rock from The Jam and Pink Floyd to Aaron Ross riding to “Hey Mickey he’s so fine, he’s so fine he blows my mind” different I must say from other Aaron Ross sections but who remember that web edit with the country and western song?

After Gary’s section the film goes straight into Matt Beringers, shredding his house and in general. He’s still got it for sure, big gaps, even bigger handrails and some tech thrown in for good measure.
Jimmy Levans up next. Like Matt’s section it is just pure shredding. Huge crashes bails and injuries. KC’s section following on from Levans was just excellent, silky smooth riding combined with immense style made sure a great section was in the books.
Adam Baton’s and a friend’s section follow and after that Taj’s part. Filmed entirely in just 2 locations. An abandoned school and the T1 ramp I was expecting it to be a bit repetitive boy was I wrong. I think this was the best section of the film at least so far. Huge indoor gaps from ghetto kickers onto the schools stage. Wall rides over the basketball hoop were suburb.

A few filler pieces are next, a montage of great riding and footage combined together to create a very easy and laid back part of the film building up to 2 of the most anticipated sections of the movie. Chase Hawk and the street ape that is Aaron Ross. Before though is Jim C’s section another masterpiece of riding and editing on its own.

Chases and Aaron’s sections don’t disappoint, huge airs, boosts ands general style and smoothness from Chase. Aaron Ross taking 720s to the streets is just silly.

There’s also a bonus disc containing about another 12 different short and long videos. 2003 vid, 2004-euro trip, Mike Aitken montage etc.

In all I give it 10 out of 10. I can’t fault it. It’s an hour long of pure riding, nothing else, plus all the bonuses on the other disc. Well worth the money.
