[review] Coalition Cog Guard
   by AndreDew | 21 Jul 2008 2:15 pm

First of all, I urge all of you to NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT.
Seriously, I got it two months ago, I don't even grind a lot and it suddenly bent to the extent it was rubbing against my spokes. In the picture, you can clearly see it only has a few scratches on it, the whole thickness of it is still there. You can't really tell that it's bent by looking at the picture, because it only bent a few millimeters.
Another annoying thing about it is that, because of the weak aluminum it's made out of, threads developed in the hole, making it extremely hard to take off. It basically melted on the axle.
Luckily I was using it on my non drive side, i don't even want to imagine what damage it could have done to the driver if it would have been on the other side. And to anyone thinking that I'm an idiot and it bent because I was using it on the wrong side of the hub, it functions the same on both sides, it just sits in between the cone nut and the frame, so that is not the issue with it.
If you buy this cog guard, i will personally come and slap you at least 10 times.

PROs
Sorry, we're all out

CONs
-It fails to work as it should, you're better off without one, since it can damage your hub/spokes worse than if you were grinding without one.
-It costs money!

-50/10 for this one
