[review] superstar sweet sweep bars!
   by DutchTobias | 15 Aug 2008 5:05 pm

I've been riding these for about 5 months now, and they are awesome. I bought them second-hand from a friend of mine who's been riding them pretty hard for about a half year. these bars have been used.
This is my first review so I'll do my best!

from the superstar site:

100 % heat treated multibutted Cr-Mo
19 mm crossbar
13° back sweep / 4° up sweep

M20 x 1,50 thread
Threaded ends to tight Superstar bar ends
Taraudage M20 x 1,50
Extrémités du guidon taraudées pour recevoir les embouts filetés Superstar

7,35" is 25" wide
7,85" is 26" wide
8,15" is 28,5" wide

Weight : 23 oz
Poids : 630 grams

Colors : black, cream white, turquoise
Couleurs : noir, crème, turquoise

Mine are 8,15 high and 28,5 wide. They are the nicest feeling bars I've ever ridden, very comfortable because of the upsweep and backsweep. I needed high bars for my back and I also wanted some leverage. I tried slambars on my friend's bike but they felt really bad on my wrists because it has almost no upsweep and very little backsweep. I tried jetsets, which felt awesome and then these! They were like heaven to my wrists. They are also VERY light. The 630 grams is only for the 7,35 version. the 8,15 probarbly is around 750 or something.
They come with special threads for the superstar or tree bar ends. these bar ends work great but I wanted to keep my old barends. Normal barends will fit in perfectly so you don't need the superstars or trees.

The price of these bars is really low, about 50 euro's which is 15 euro cheaper than the average handle bar.

picture of them on my bike:

PROS:
-really light
-come in the 3 different sizes to fit everyone's needs
-very comfortably
-cheaper than the average handle bar,you get a LOT for your money
-treaded bar ends (if you really want to use them)

CONS:
-I'd like to see an unlimited warranty, even when it raises the price.
