[Review] Sunday Ian Schwartz frame
   by Valvecap | 18 Aug 2008 1:47 pm

Hi everyone, this is Valvecap!!!

Today I'm reviewing the Sunday Ian Schwartz frame and the Second wave because they're the same. here are some specs to begin with

Quote:
Ian Schwartz signature frame made from 41 Thermal chromoly featuring a double-butted toptube, integrated headtube, New Wave dent resistant downtube and a Wave gusset at the headtube and downtube junction making an extremely strong front end. Other features include integrated Pivotal seatpost, tapered and butted chainstays and seatstays, 8mm hollow dropouts, integrated chain tensioners, post weld machined BB shell to insure a perfect fit, new one piece wishbone rear end design making it lighter and stronger than previous versions and custom graphics designed by Ian himself.
Headset Type: Integrated (Campy Style)
BB Type: Mid
BB Height: 11.75"
Chainstay: 13.75"
Headtube Angle: 74.5°
Seattube Angle: 71°
Seatpost Size: Integrated pivotal
Dropout Size: 14mm
Weight: 5 lbs

I've been running this frame for almost 3 months and it's amazing. I've been riding it non-stop and have landed some new tricks with it. As soon as i got it I noticed how light it was (compared to my stock frame) The integrated chain tensioners were a big plus, because I hate the hassling of getting my wheel in line. Right now I'm running a 2.10 Fit FAF in the back and it fits in there perfectly. As soon as my tyre dies I'm gonna buy a 2.25 tyre. I've bought mine with brake mounts, but now I'm familiar with the world of brakeles riding so my next Sunday!-frame will be without brake mounts. Or the next series should feature removable brakemounts! the integrated pivotal seat is great but I guess they slam it more. The gusset and the downtube are the Sunday! trademark, so whenever I come into a park, some guys ask me if it is a real Sunday(I have the first Sunday in Belgium). And everyone loves the graphics. The chainstays are some kind of problem because they are so wide. I had a problem to get my profiles installed. This frame is really stiff and the Black Magic coating is wicked. It's like matt black and metallic black together. This frame is great, even for park riding.

PRICE:375$

Pro's
-Integrated pivotal seat-post
-Black magic coating
-Tyre clearance
