[HowTo] Fire Hydrant
   by Backsidewalkaround | 28 Nov 2005 3:54 pm

Trick Description:
The Fire Hydrant is a combination of Fork Glide and Tailwhip.

This trick is often the first one when trying to learn combinations or more difficult tricks, for example Spastic Frontyard (very difficult) or Decade (very cool!).

HOWTO:
Start rolling at medium speed while having your left foot on the right front peg and the right foot on the left back peg.

Now continue with a slight left turn, followed by turning your handlebar to the right side quickly. This step is needed to get some spinning speed.
The bike should be leaned to the right side (that's the most difficult part at the beginning) and then you push your right foot off from the back peg.

After a fast 180 to 220 degrees turn on your front-wheel (spinning the handlebars with you), keep rolling clockwise with the left foot on the left front peg (as before).

At this point lean slightly backwards so that the rear wheel comes off the ground and starts spinning with you in the same direction.

Keep rolling the circle .... The smaller the circle the fast the back wheel will start to come around you. You must be ready to grab your brakes then.

When the back wheel and you handlebar build a line (or even later), grab the front brake, catch the turning frame with your right foot and bring your weight back to the right side of your bike.

The back wheel touches the ground you can put your feet back on the pedals and ride on.
