[Review] ODYSSEY Path Tire
   by turndown | 04 Dec 2005 10:04 am

I bought this tire back in April for 14.95 and ran it on the rear.
It's the larger of the available sizes at 2.1 and its pretty beefy compared to my 1.95 front. PSI wise, Ive ran this tire at about 85 or so with not one flat or any problem like that, with the recommended pressure being 90.

Since Ive had it on there, Ive had no problems gripping at the park or on street and even rode some trails with not one slip. (I take that back, it slipped on ice and little loose stones from the side of the road  haha what tire doesnt?) Plus Ive noticed about all of the tread is still there. this tire doesnt hardly wear at all. Keep in mind, I rode this tire brakeless the whole time.

Here is a pic of the tread as of today:

Ive encountered one problem: I like to grind ledges. A lot. And about a month ago I got to looking at my sidewalls and i noticed some small rips just starting on my grind side (right) all the way around the whole sidewall. But by no means am I done with this tire. Its still going strong and so am I. Here is a pic of those:
Oh, and it was a pain to get on my Hula Hoop but youll have that.

Pros:
+ nice grip
+ tread lasts forever
+ comes in 2 sizes
+ 90 PSI reccomendation
+ only 15 bucks.

Cons:
- sidewalls started ripping after 8 months (barely)
- hard to get on rim (but alot of tires are)

Rating- 9.5 / 10. I gave it .25 off for the sidewalls ripping because that will happen on almost any tire, and .25 off because of the pain to get it on my rim.

So buy this tire because like everything Odyssey makes (besides its cranks) its mint!

Cost: around $15 USD
