[Review] Macneil Fullguard Sprocket (25t)
   by turndown/dean stacy | 18 Jan 2006 6:35 pm

To start this off i will say that i got this sprocket used in 25t for 35 bucks. Had I not bought it used, I probably wouldntve bought it because new it is a little pricey, around 65 dollars. Though I bought it used it only one "section" of the guard had like 5 scratches in it. So it was virtually, brand new. Ever since I got it (in July 05) I have been nailing it on missed grinds, trying to grind it, and doing sprocket stalls with no problems what so ever. I havent even had to rotate it yet, as the side that I bash still has alot of life left. Also it hasnt been or ovalized or anything. I dont know anything about the bigger sizes but my guess would be about every size is pretty strong. regardless ANY sprocket will lose some strength the more number of teeth you get.

Plus ever since I got this sprocket I have recieved compliments on how cool it looks. At a trails jam, at the skatepark, everywhere. And I do agree it is a rather sexy sprocket haha.

this is my sprocket, after 7 months.

this is the sprocket, new.

If you have the cash I would get this sprocket, however if your tight on cash i would look into the Mosh Method (a fullguard also)

Pros:
+ strong (at least in 25t)
+ cool looking
+ lasts along time
+ 3 rotation options

Cons:
sorta expensive (but worth dishing out if you want a quality sprocket)

Cost: about $65
