[How To] Quick Method of Painting Your Frame
   by mwa | 10 Jul 2006 5:39 pm

OK so you have just removed your stickers off your bike and you have bits on your frame that are a different color? or your current paint job it chipped and looking bad?

Well here is how you can paint your frame in less than 2 days! (ok enough with the dannoz direct talk lol)

WHAT YOU WILL NEED...

  • packet of mixed grade sand paper
  • 1 can of grey/white primer or matt color
  • 1-2 can(s) of colored paint
  • 1 can of clear/clear gloss
  • bottle of cleaner
  • hose
  • ya mums blow dryer

WHAT TO DO...

ok first take and look at your frame and work out what color will look the goods with your parts anf theme

now start sanding your frame. Start will rough paper and work down to the fine stuff

Give your frame a GOOD clean to remove all the fine dust and dirt left on your frame (no pic for this one sorry)

Now you can start painting!

Start with the primer and do a couple of light coats. DO NOT DO A HEAVY DARK COAT BECAUSE IT WILL RUN!!

Wait about an hour for the primer to dry

Now give your primer a light sand with the finest paper you have. now with the blow dryer remove the dust

Start with the colour coat, again do a few light coats DO NOT DO A HEAVY DARK COAT BECAUSE IT WILL RUN!!

Wait about an hour and take a look at it. If it looks a bit grey or a bit off colour do the above step again^^

ok now you should have a nice new paint job but its still now finished. You now need to give you frame about 3 coats of the clear gloss to really bring out the colour

And there you have it, a nice new color to your frame

I also painted my spokes, front rim, forks and bars with gloss black to make them look nice

I hope you like my HOW-TO and please leave a nice comment so i know that you do like it
