[Review] Odyssey Vermont Sprocket (25 + 28t)
   by turndown | 28 Dec 2006 7:27 pm

This summer after completely killing my Macneil Fullguard, I got an opportunity to pick up a BRAND NEW, in package, 25t Odyssey Vermont for 30 bucks. (I probably would not have bought this new, unless I couldnt find a deal on a used one, to save money. What can I say, Im a bargain hunter ) Needless to say I got it, but then shortly after my 9t driver blew up, so I picked up an 11t for cheap and to make a long story short, I was running 25/11. I ran it like this (non grind side) for a couple months, put it through a few bashes/slipped grinds/attempted pedal grinds on that side, and then I realized this small gearing wasnt for me.

Shortly after I traded it for a 28t Vermont, slightly used, and have been riding that for a good 3 months now. So far, I have attempted to learn crooked grinds (which resulted in many straight to sprocket grinds), and done a few more pedal tricks (which resulted in straight to sprocket tricks), and this sprocket has taken a beating. It hasnt bent or messed up any teeth, and Im still using the same sprocket bolt hole since the first day I got it. Plus it looks pretty sweet if you ask me.

Pros: Light, cool looking, by Odyssey, strong
Cons: Cost.

Summary: I would definetely pick this up if you are looking for a quality, strong, and good looking sprocket.

Rating: I give this sprocket a 10/10 because its great, and mildly priced (about the same as most sprockets)

Cost: About $45 (USD)
