[Review] G-Sport GLAND Hubguard V2
   by turndown | 12 Feb 2007 4:13 pm

After learning pegless grinds, and destroying my first wheel, I needed something to protect my flanges and spokes on my new wheel. I bought a gland off a guy (it was brand new, I paid full price) and put it on.
All I can say is that this is quite possibly the best thing ever! I havent broken or even damages any spokes or my flange since I put it on. Its light, stiff, and the only problems Ive ever had were that sometimes a couple of the zipties break, but they are cheap and I just slip a couple more on. Not to mention it looks like its going to last almost forever, as tough as the plastic is. Its even held up to the peg grinding I do on concrete and such. Simply, amazing.

The Gland on my bike, as of today. (I have had it for roughly 5 months)

Pros:

  • Light
  • does amazing job
  • fairly cheap
Cons: none

Summary: If you have problems breaking spokes or damaging your flanges, get one of these now!

Cost: About $11 USD
