[Review] Fly Pantera 2 Frame
   by rideohio | 23 Feb 2007 11:28 pm

Fly's successor to the original Pantera frame is, in my opinion, one of the most popular frames around right now. There are usually one or two people at the park with one, and I've experienced sessioning a box jump six people, and four of which have the frame.

I got the frame in early October of 06 in the Pearl Red with a 21" TT. Being tall, and 21 is a little too short for me, but Albes didn't have any 21.4s and I really needed a frame. Here are the specs:

Chainstay: 13.75"
BB Type: Spanish
BB Height: 11.5"
Headtube Angle: 74.5°
Seattube Angle: 71°
Seatpost Size: 25.4mm
Dropout Size: 14mm
Weight: 5 lbs 7.9 oz.

Colors:
"Kevin Lile" - Pink

"Stevan Pearl Red" - Red

"Tony Mustard" - Yellow

"Sergio Dirty Green" - Green

Pros:

  • Stable on QP's and spines
  • Good manualing, nose and rear
  • Small dropouts
  • Intergrated chain tensioners
  • Intergrated gyro tabs (removable)
  • Intergrated seat clamp
  • Spanish BB is light and strong
  • The red looks sick!

Cons:
  • A bit squirrelly on box jumps
  • I dented the TT only after a couple of months

Price: $299.99

Rating: 8.9/10
