[Review] Odyssey 7KA (Black)

ODYSSEY 7KA 36H BLACK

I purchased this rim for Christmas, along with the rest of my rear wheel. Laced it up myself, first thing I noticed before I laced it....DAMN ITS LIGHT. The 7KA kind of reminds me of a NASCAR rim, it's light, looks aerodynamic, and you just get a feeling of greatness while riding on it.

Now for some useful stuff. I'm not a super smooth rider, not a rough rider (DMX fo life), but inbetween. That said with my style of riding (smoothish park) it holds up soooooooo good. I've cased a few times pretty bad on coping, no dents, and it just feels solid, with help from DT spokes.

The braking is absolutely perfect as well. At first, before it's broken in a lil bit, it has so/so braking. But once you get your stuff nice and used to eachother it brakes perfectly, squeals just a lil bit too which, to me, tells you your brakes are working. The annodizing wears off the slightest bit, but not like on other black rims. So I'd rate the braking on it, with a good brake setup, a 9/10 (10/10 would require heatsinks or plazmatics).

The only problem I have encountered is tire installation/removal, but that's super common with double and triple wall rims, and an easy fix by getting tire levers. I also have had no flats with it, but I run the Odyssey rim strip. It's well worth the money, and comes in 36H/48H Black or Chrome. So it'll fit right into your abusing street setup, or your 20lb trendy setup, no problem.

Pros:
Light, yet still extremely tough
Great Braking
SEXY
Avaiable in 36H/48H, Black or Chrome

Cons:
Price, but you get what you pay for in rims
Tire removal/installation (Common with most rims)

Overall:
8.5/10
