[Review] Fit Flow Trail
   by monkeyonabike | 08 Jul 2007 9:10 pm

I have had this bike now for about 2 months and it has been great. I have swapped the rim, seat, stem and grips, I have only done this out of personal preference and i had some money to waste, it has nothing to do with the quality of the parts.

first of all when I saw it I thought it looked sick. the weldings looked nice, it had good parts and came in good colors, red with black and raw with brown.

The only thing I really wanted to change on this bike in a hurry was grips as their logo ones were a bit slippery and felt weird. The bike rolls well and really fast, and is even good for use on park as well as dirt. The other thing that troubled me at first was that the S&M pedals are really small and take a while to get used to, but they take a good scraping and bashing.

The end of the bike is a good length to make manuals feel good but still feels good while cornering and around berms. it has a low stand over hight, but still feels fine to ride. the bike is pretty short but isn't so short that it feels weird.

this is the spec list from the fit web site:
20.75” top tube
100% 4130 cromo frame
Press fit Mid BB
Integrated head tube
100% 4130 cromo fork with 1 piece steerer tube
100% 4130 high handlebar
Fit S3 style stem
Flow Series tubular cromo 48 spline 175mm cranks
Fit Key Logo 30t machined alloy sprocket
Flow Series wheelset with, 11t one piece cassette driver,
36h Sun Street Lite rims, 14mm rear, 3/8” front axles
Fly Ruben 2.25” front tire, Odyssey Path 1.85” rear tire
Tektro U-brake
Odyssey Monolever Medium and Odyssey linear cable
Fit seat
S&M 101 pedals
S&M XLT seat clamp

The really bad part of this bike is how weak the tubing on the chainstays are. about 2 weeks into having this bike i was learning how to feeble. I slid off the coping and hit my frame really soft against it by accident. i didn't worry about it till I got home but i had left a fair sized dent in the frame.

All in all this is a really nice, well set up stock bike, that will take a fair bit for riding on dirt but can still keep its own around a park.

pros:
nice looking bike
Good parts
Nice to ride
Really good on dirt.

cons:
easy to dent
price
small pedals.

The fit flow trail costs $999 Aus

i give this bike a 8 out of 10 as it feels good to ride, but is pretty pricey.
