[Review] KHE Pyramids
   by kkmk | 13 Aug 2007 1:32 pm

I've had these grips for about 2 months now, and I'm considering stockpiling another 10 or so pairs. Riding flatland, I consider my grips very important, and had tried 10 or so different grips before trying these. At first I thought they would be hard, and the little pyramids would be stiff, giving grip. I was wrong. The grips are a perfect middle point of soft as a pillow and rock hard, which is perfect for me. The little dimples give excellent grip, which is perfect for holding on in opposite steamrollers and such. The darker sections are softer than the lighter bits, which give a slightly tingly sense under your hand, which keeps them feeling responsive and on the ball.

After one and a half months, I replaced them (even though they had minimal wear) for finger bangers. I put the bangers on because i hate them, and didn't mind them being ripped up whilst I learnt hitchhikers. Finding that the bangers don rip as easily as I'd like, I put my pyramids back on and its made all the difference. I'm happier with my riding because my hands are more comfortable, they also don't get destroyed as much as I thought they would, being relatively thin.

Pros:
Grippy as hell
Comfortable
The little ridges don't give you callouses, like every other grip I've tried

Cons:
Thin (though some may find this a pro)

Rating: 9/10

My favourite grip.
