[Review] Tektro FX-15
   by flyjumper13 | 29 Jan 2008 9:08 pm

When building my new bike several months ago I left my job and my lost my only means of money so I needed a cheap set of brakes I picked the tektro fx-15 because it was all the shop had

they were cheap low profile and were pretty light they come with several bits and pieces to set them up as front or rear brake and an instruction manual. The pads included with them are decent for a set of brakes they are long and narrow and have a long bolt for fine tuning they dont wear as quick as other pads Ive used they were never replaced once during there 5 months run. Any other time I replaced pads on a weekly bases.

The arms had a good amount of adjustment room on them. They also had a different type of spring that allows for their lower profile, but because of this spring they are very hard to adjust and get it tuned in. If you know how to work on brakes then you should be able to get them to lock. They also have some material removed from the bottom this helps give them a lighter over all weight but also creates alot of flex.

All in all these brakes are decent for the price I payed (16.48 usd) if you are on a buget or need some replacment brakes that will last a few months then these would suit your needs but you will find yourself adjusting your brakes more then you would with a better set of brakes.

all in all 7 out of 10
