[Review] Fly Cranks
   by DutchBmxer | 31 Jan 2008 10:07 pm

as my essays for this simester is over i thought why not make a review:
fly about these cranks:

first of all they come with this fresh funky package:

When i first grabbed the cranks i noticed how light they are.(a tad bit less then 800grams)
I got them the end of Februari 2007 that's almost a year.
i've only had one problem, and that's removing it, all the 48 splined cranks has them but it's just a small issue -which can be solved with a rubber hammer.
Some people have cracked these cranks at the pedal boss( fly said only 7% has that and only the 2nd batch has it, if you buy these cranks new you'll get the 3rd batch most likely)

This is a photo of the snapped fly cranks:

This is my version just 11months old fresh taken pics:

I have that macneil sticker there to stop condensation a bit, but yeah could do without.

the spindle is hollow and is re-invorced at some points:

Pro's:
-light
-2pc
-the 3rd batch has the pedal boss welded all the way around
-hollow spindle
-trendy
-strong(some defaults but i haven't seen a 3rd batch broken

Con's:
-trendy
-some of the 2nd batch break(7% as fly says)
-hard to remove

i rate these cranks a 8,7/10, they are good but a bit hard to remove and some of them break, but if yours don't break they are lovely.
