[review] profile mini front hub (w/10mm studs)
   by jakallen1990 | 23 Feb 2008 8:01 pm

The profile mini was a hub i wanted ever since i started bmx! and when i finally got it it didnt disapoint me.
in 1979 profile made a 48 splined chromoly three piece crankset!!!! so you dont have to worry that the company is waaay ahead of its time.

The hub has a 6061 aluminium body too keep down the weight. which is made in the usa... to keep up the price... and the hub is available with ti studs if you want to lower the weight and raise the price even further!! (214 grams and £100)
it comes in 36hole only in this version and 6 colours, (all the usual profile colours).

so its all great, until you want to run pegs... it is possible, but not reccomended with the studs! but profile have and axle version which weighs a little more but can run pegs comfotably.

the hub runs on superb sealed bearings and is relitavely low maintenance! it looks great too

PROS
1. super light
2. lots of colours!!
3. super smooth bearings
4. its made by profile!!!
5. loads of versions available and titanium aftermarket parts!!
6. low mainenance

CONS
1. expensive
2. only 36hole
3. not suited to pegs

so to sum it up the profile is a great hub! and i have had NO! problems at all with mine!! but not pegs has gotta knock 1/2 a point off. (if its a problem just get the axle version!)

result: 9.5/10
