[review] tree drivelite sprocket
   by jakallen1990 | 09 Apr 2008 8:34 pm

Ok I got the sprocket a little while ago now to fix a chain line problem, and it worked perfectly! The sprocket has offset teeth to optimise chain alignment, the teeth on the sprocket are a masterpiece of their own each tooth is 13” wide for maximum tooth strength and 27” tall for a super smooth drivetrain, the height and width also helps eliminate the chain slipping off if you happen to run it that loose, but still just short enough not to poke out the top of the chain so sprocket slides etc are still feasible.

Of course the main thing that separates the tree drive lite sprocket from its regular and other sprockets on the market is its unique 48 spline centre hole! This means if you have a 19mm 48 spline crank axle (such as profile) the sprocket will slide onto those splines eliminating any play in the sprocket and also the need for a spider bolt (saving a little weight!! haha).

The sprocket is made from 5/16” thick 7075 t6 aluminium which ensures excellent strength to weight ratio! The sprocket utilises an I beam structure to maximise strength and minimise weight!

From my personal experience so far the sprocket is perfect! it doesn’t wobble, move, scratch, slip nothing, it has made my drive run allot smoother and fixed my chainline issue! it looks great in my opinion and has a great clean cut finish! I really cant praise it enough best thing I’ve ever bought....

The sprocket is a little pricey at £55 in the UK but you pay for what you get in this case I believe! The sprocket also comes in size 22t, 25t, 38t and 30t and the usual tree colours. It weighs 70g.
You can also get the sprocket in 22mm and non drive driven so you use a spiderbolt!

PROS
1. super light
2. super strong
3. looks great
4. comes in an array of popular sizes and colours!!
5. brilliant engineered teeth illiminate every problem under the sun!
6. comes in 22m and normal drive too
7. made by treebikeco!! great! its not that common at the moment either as stocks are limited

CONS
1. its pretty expensive but you pay for what you get
2. limited supplies around but thats not the sprockets fault
