[Review] Proper Front Wheel
   by ant1h3ro | 29 Jun 2008 11:13 pm

This is my review of the Proper Front Wheel.

The stock Proper Front Wheel is basically the Proper Magnalite front hub and a basic Proper rim laced together. It is a pretty light wheel; weighing in at 2lbs 2oz (34oz), and pretty cheap as well; pricing in at about $85. It comes in many different colors to suite your needs and it has a very solid 3/8ths axle for all you hard riders out there.

I bought this wheel almost 2 years ago because I wanted a cheap, decent, ridable front wheel after I destroyed my other one. To my disbelief, the wheel held up unbelievably well and is still completely ridable today. The 3/8th's axle is still as solid as a rock, the rim has no dings in it whatsoever, and the hub is still rolling smooth. Hell, it's almost perfectly trued and every spoke is as tight as can be and I haven't dicked with it one bit. This wheel has lasted through 2 bent bars, 3 cracked frames, 1 crushed rear rim, 2 snapped rear axles, 1 busted rear hub, and 1 snapped crank. I am not the smoothest rider around and this little baby is still going strong.

Pros
Cheaper than most stock front wheels.
A decent light weight.
Comes in colors for you fruity people.
Strong as hell.
Survived under me for nearly 2 years.

Cons
Only comes in 3/8ths... but who cares, it's strong enough.

I'd honestly give this wheel a 10/10
