[Review] Maxxis Hookworm
   by JohnW | 05 Jul 2008 3:24 pm

I bought one when I wore out the back tire on my old bike months ago. I haven't had a single problem the whole time I've had it. No punctures so far, it's thick and is rated for 110 PSI. A little hard to put it on a rim, but not too bad. It gets great traction on almost any surface, especially wet pavement. I nearly wiped out once or twice due to hitting patches of sand, and it doesn't grip well on wet brick sidewalks, but it's great other than that. I've hardly worn it down so far. I paid over $20 for it at my lbs and have gotten my money's worth, so the $12.99 it could cost you is definitely worth it.

Pros:
110 PSI
Thick - Doesn't puncture easy
Cheap
Almost no rolling resistance
Good grip on almost any surface
Looks sick

Cons:
Slightly heavy
slightly difficult to put on compared to some tires

I give it a 9.5/10
