[review] Primo Strands
   by AustinK | 28 Jan 2009 2:36 pm

$110
I have been running the strands for 4 months now and have loved them.

At 29 ounces these forks are very light but they feel very strong. With a lifetime warranty they can't be beat. The 13mm offset makes them steer very quickly. This is great for front end tricks like nose mannies and 180 pivots. The offset also makes spinning on flat a little easier as the wheel base is reduced.

So far they have been durable as they didn't even dent after my tire spilled off on a rail ride. I don't run pegs so i can not comment on the dropouts strength. The steerer tube is very long and if you don't run a gyro you may need some spacers, unless you like cutting into the threads.

They are fine for footjams as long as you jam the side of your foot in and not the toes.
The pros are also the cons as the low offset makes these forks scary for trails. While it is doable, it is worth mentioning.

Pros:
lightweight
low offset
durable
integrated race

cons:
too fast for dirt
very long steerer tube

overall:
9/10

Great for street and park but bad for dirt.
