30 Jun 2008 6:34 pm, [HowTo] Easy Bottle Cap Barends

So some people think it's ghetto, some think it's cool. So long as you have a cool bottle cap it's just something to be different. If you do this with plastic barends, it should help protect them a bit longer.

What You Need:
Screw Driver (or what ever is used to tighten your barends)
Sharp Object (to put the hole in the bottle cap)
Bottle caps
Barends (I used the barends that came with my grips)
Handle Bar

24 Jun 2008 1:46 am, [HowTo] Make stickers like a pro

These stickers are fully waterproof, acid free, won't go yellow, won't peel off easily. I have had them on my bike for a good 3 months now and they are in perfect condition.

You'll need:

  • printer
  • OHP paper
  • double sided adhesive paper from a scrapbooking shop
  • photocopier paper
  • sellotape
  • scissors
  • bike

Design all the stickers you want to make in word, black and white works best. Although colour is possible. These stickers work best on light coloured frames, I tried it out on my mates black frame and you could see the glue and stuff – didnt look good.

  27 May 2008 11:56 pm, [HowTo]Invert!

So today im going to teach you how to invert lol

It would probably help if you know how to table already.

1.when your going for a invert you might want to Pull off the lip more then just a regular table(dont push your bike down because itll just be a table).

2.Push the bike to your side (room for your knees)

3.Fold your arms as if you were doing a Table.(remember to put your hand under your armpit not over it)

4.Lean your body into it (so you can hit your shoulder lol)

5.Crank it has hard as possble.

6.Then push your bike down and land.

The harder you crank it the hard it will be to keep your feet on and landing it.

This trick will take awhile to learn but its def. worth it.
In my opinion its easier to do them flyout. If you need more tips, just ask ill be glad to help ha.

Edit:heres a video of slow mo of a invert

  21 Apr 2008 11:13 pm, Photography Basics!

you may have some pretty basic questions here about manual photography, which is good. I have seen a lot of people who just point and shoot for terrible results or set the camera on “automatic” and fire away, producing very bland, unimaginative photos. The best way to learn is to learn the manual way. I shoot a Nikon D100 and I almost never use the auto settings because they are often wrong in that they do not expose the photo the way I want it. Later on, you will learn that shooting bmx photos means you must use manual settings on your camera and on your lights because it gives you maximum creative control.

First, what camera do you have? if your camera does not allow manual control of aperture and shutter speed, the creative possiblities are pretty limited. if you have manual control, you will need to master the basics of balancing shutter speed and aperture for good exposures.

the settings you will use depend on how much light there is and what part of the scene you want to expose and to what degree you want to expose it. your camera should have a built-in light meter that tells you when the scene in the frame is exposed correctly. Learn your light meter, love your light meter, BECOME ONE WITH THE LIGHT METER! every manufacturer has a different kind of light meter but they work about the same.

Why BMX means so much to me

BMX, a sport that infatuates all of the people reading this article, I am addicted to this terrific sport and I will keep riding until my body gives out on me. I am going to try to explain why BMX means so much to me by describing the best day of BMX I had.

I wake, the alarm ringing in my ear, I get up and get dressed, I leave without breakfast not wanting to miss a minute of daylight. I arrive at the skate park greeted by my riding buddy. I stand there looking at the dirt jump to the side that I had ignored for so long I rode around the park in dream land wondering what would happen if I went at the ferocious double again. Would it leave me bloody and bruised as it did once before? After getting used to my bike I decided that I could no longer have that doubt in my mind, the thought that “what if I had went for it”. In such a hurry I crunched down on the pedals towards the jump I overcome the first small double standing in between my fear and me. Unsure weather I am going to make it I crunch down on the pedals once more to get that extra speed. I am sent soaring into the air by the lip as I am in the air my adrenaline is pumping and I am focused on achieving my goal. I have the down ramp in my sights. I point the bike towards it. I land and go over to the bench, hop off my bike and couldn’t help but let out my excitement with a loud “wooooooohooooooo!”

For me it is these moments that make regular life bearable, knowing that when I am riding it’s just me and whatever I want it to be. This is my life.
